We incorporate less impactful materials that have proven to be both durable and functional. Because a garment’s total environmental impact is related to how long it lasts, FW offers a robust repair service to further extend the life of our products. As part of our forward-thinking mission, we always aim to repair rather than replace, as we seek to keep our products out of landfill.

The following are just a few examples of materials that have passed FW's rigorous testing to ensure functionality, durability and eco-friendliness. The Root Anorak LTS is made from Oxford Recycled Yarn; this eco-forward fabric is incredibly durable while maintaining a natural look and handfeel. With outstanding warmth-to-weight ratio, FW's Primaloft® Black Eco insulation — utilized in a number of our garments — is made from 60% post-consumer recycled materials, including plastic bottles.

MEET FW'S QUALITY AND SUSTAINABILITY MANAGER

This is Sara Asmoarp.  In her role as FW's Quality and Sustainability Manager Sara is deeply involved with both the product development team and our production chain. Previously working within Quality Control at Volvo, Sara understands the product life cycle and melds the highest standards of quality and durability to FW's Sustainability goals.
